The Cryo-Jane Tape Transfer System is designed for cryosectioning, as an effective method of producing high quality frozen sections from difficult tissue. The system uses adhesive coated slides and adhesive tape to capture sections instead of the anti-roll plate or brush. This method of sectioning achieves frozen sections of paraffin quality as thin as two microns. The resulting sections are uncompressed, intact, and bonded to the microscope slide. This system is especially useful for tissues such as adipose and bone marrow and is compatible with special staining, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence.

The Process

A strip of Cryo-Jane Transfer tape is affixed to the trimmed tissue block and then a section is cut directly onto the tape. The tape with the section is then mounted to a pre-coated adhesive slide.
